a non profit organization for retired men, of any
age, devoted to the promotion of independence and dignity of retirement!

SIRS of Mount Shasta welcomes all retired men who wish to meet other retirees and join a fun, social group!

There are no dues requirements, and all participation is completely voluntary.

SIRS is an association of those men no longer engaged in full time employment.  Anyone can participate in organized golf, bowling, fishing, group dinners, great holiday parties, or just plain conversation!

Our 2011 BIG SIR, Fred Obermiller retired from College of the Siskiyous after a 30 Year career as a professor of busness and economics.  Fred has been a devoted scoutmaster for 10 yrs, is a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award, and is currently a member of th Kinghts of Columbus. He has been an ctive member of SIR for 8 years.

Fred is an avid golfer and while not on the course he and his wife Beverly enjoy traveling in their RV, & spending time with their grandchildren.

LITTLE SIR Francis Vorbeck was born and raised in Hamburg, Germany.  After attending college in Germany, Francis served an apprenticeship in the export/import business in N.Y. He returned to Germany and worked in his father's food business and later for Nivea Creme.

Francis returned to the USA in 1980 and was active in the renovation of his church headquarters in Chicago.  There he met his wife Irma and subsequently moved to Mount Shasta in 1999 for retirement.  Francis is a serous golfer.




  

We all get together monthly for a SIRS luncheon at Lalos in Mt. Shasta.  Stop in at 11:00 on the third Wednesday and join us!
